A session with writer and artist Dr. Salah Haithani Memory and Matter"

In conjunction with the "Rub' Ton" (Quarter Tone) festival—curated by artist Naseer Shamma and held at the Al-Awwal courtyard in Riyadh’s Diplomatic Quarter—a series of accompanying dialogue and art sessions took place. Among these was a session on Thursday, October 15, featuring the writer and artist Dr. Salah Haithani, titled "Memory and Matter."

The session explored the concept of matter as a vessel for narrative—a repository where memory stores the facets of identity and the traces of human experience.

It was a rich and engaging evening, during which Dr. Salah Haithani—as is his custom—shined, guiding the audience on an intellectual and aesthetic journey through the intersections of matter, memory, and identity. His unique perspective transformed the dialogue into a space for discovering the stories embedded within objects, and the imprints of human existence and memory preserved within raw materials.

The evening served as a reminder that matter is not merely a form we perceive; rather, it is a memory to be read, an identity to be reclaimed, and a story that remains alive within the details of things.
