"Al-Marsam 2026" Exhibition Showcases Creative Works from Mahmoud Said Center’s Summer Workshops
Under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, the "Al-Marsam 2026" exhibition opened yesterday. It showcases the output of summer workshops held at the Mahmoud Said Center in Alexandria—an institution affiliated with the Fine Arts Sector, led by Dr. Mahmoud Hamed, and supervised by the Central Administration of Museums.
The exhibition’s events commenced in the presence of Dr. Noha Youssef and the summer workshop supervisors, with the participation of Dr. Howaida El-Sebaie.
In a heartfelt gesture of tribute and appreciation, the Center’s team honored the memory of the late artist Azza Abdel Moneim, who passed away two weeks ago. She was a prominent and influential figure who significantly enriched the Center’s art workshops, leaving behind a unique presence and legacy.
This tribute took the form of a dedicated section in the exhibition displaying a collection of works she created with children during previous workshops, alongside documentary photographs capturing her at work and interacting with them—ensuring her spirit and beautiful impact remain present among the Center’s visitors.
The opening ceremony drew a notable gathering of artists and academics—most notably Dr. Mona Aliwa, Amira El-Sotouhi, Mohamed Abdel Salam, and Ibrahim Maarouf—as well as a large crowd of Center visitors, participating artists, and the children's families.
The exhibition features approximately 180 artworks displayed across the "Ajyal 1 and 2" halls, ranging from drawings to handicrafts that vividly demonstrate the talent of the participating young artists. The exhibition is scheduled to continue welcoming visitors until Thursday, October 15, 2026.
