"Chatter" (Tharthara): An Exhibition Exploring the Spirit of Places by the "Single-Shot" Artists’ Group at the Mahmoud Mokhtar Center – This Thursday
Under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, the Fine Arts Sector—led by Dr. Mahmoud Hamed—will launch the exhibition "Chatter" (Tharthara) by the "Single-Shot" (Al-Laqta Al-Wahida) group, directed by Dr. Abdel Aziz El-Gendy. The exhibition will be held in the Nahdat Misr and Isis halls at the Mahmoud Mokhtar Cultural Center, opening at 6:00 PM on Thursday, October 22, 2026.
Dr. Mahmoud Hamed stated that "Chatter" is not merely a technical collection of various artistic schools and media—ranging from drawing to painting—but rather a visual invitation to explore the concept of positive "visual chatter." It captures the beautiful, vibrant bustle that the artists absorbed from the street life in Bab Zuweila and Al-Gamaliya, the intricate heritage details found in the Museum of Islamic Art, and the lively energy of musical performances, from the harmony of instruments to the conductor in an orchestral setting.
The exhibition will feature works by 42 artists, comprising approximately 90 pieces across various disciplines, techniques, and media, representing a diverse range of artistic schools and movements.
"Chatter" will remain open to the public until November 1, 2026.
