In Search of a Spot of Light

The Egyptian Opera House, under the leadership of Dr. Reda El-Wakil, hosted an art exhibition titled "In Search of a Spot of Light" by artist Mohamed Abdel Salam. The exhibition opened at 6:00 PM on Sunday, October 11, at the Ziad Bakir Hall.

The exhibition features over 50 paintings created using a variety of media, including oil paints, pastels, and acrylics. Through these works, the artist presents a symbolic vision of psychological states that oscillate between defiance and defeat, exploring the complexities of the human experience—its inherent hardships and transformations.

The displayed pieces reflect the human capacity to overcome challenges and transmute them into energy that paves the way for new beginnings, offering an artistic space that bridges contemplation with the expression of diverse human emotions and experiences.

Born in El-Mahalla El-Kubra in 1968, artist Mohamed Abdel Salam graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Alexandria, specializing in painting, in 1991.

Throughout his career in the visual arts, Abdel Salam has held several solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions, both locally and internationally. The exhibition remains open to the public until Tuesday, October 13.
